Key Milestones included:
- Setting up a centralized data center: Connecting all six sites to our Swiss IT Security Cloud via MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching). The Lucerne-based data center is hosting all of Woodpecker Holding AG’s line-of-business apps, including Comarch ERP, Sage and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Installation of a virtual server infrastructure (Keynet Cloud): At the core of the new IT system now lies a new virtual server infrastructure, which powers security, hybrid exchange, and backup solutions as well as a complete Citrix VD environment for all clients (more on that below).
- Securely connecting to Microsoft 365: Existing Microsoft 365 apps and services are now accessed by all clients through our secure data center.
- Connecting thin clients to our data center: Central management of all thin clients via Keynet Cloud reduced local administration efforts dramatically.
- Setting up and connecting new hardware: The new infrastructure demanded a new internet connection, as well as Cisco switches and Firewall clusters. At the heart of the new data center lies a high-performance Cisco UCS Blade server connected to a full flash array from Pure Storage.
