For the second time, SITS has been honored with the TOP CONSULTANT Award, reaffirming its position as one of Germany’s leading consulting firms focused on the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The award ceremony took place on June 27, 2025, as part of the German SME Summit in Mainz, with congratulations delivered by former Federal President Christian Wulff, who also serves as the award’s mentor.

Only those consulting firms that receive top marks from their SME clients for competence, reliability, and effectiveness are granted this prestigious distinction.

The award is based on a scientifically grounded evaluation by the Scientific Society for Management and Consulting (WGMB), led by Prof. Dr. Dietmar Fink. Only verified client feedback is assessed – a process that cannot be influenced by marketing claims or branding.

As a long-standing Microsoft partner with a clear focus on IT security, the SITS Group was invited to Redmond (USA) to participate in the exclusive Microsoft Security Engineering Partner Airlift in January 2025.

Wettingen (Switzerland), February 26, 2025 – SITS Group AG, a leading IT security group, has announced the new CEO of the SITS Group, Pascal Keller-Bossart (45), with effect from 1 March 2025. He takes over this position from Maximilian Coqui, who will remain associated with the company as a representative of the shareholder Triton Partners.

Pascal Keller-Bossart was previously CEO of IT service provider Inventx and strengthened its leading market position in the Swiss financial sector over the long term. He significantly expanded the business and drove organisational development by founding business units for the growth areas of cloud, workplace and cyber security. Prior to this, he held various management positions at Google Cloud, most recently as Head of Google Workspace for the DACH region.

Pascal Keller-Bossart studied computer science at ETH Zurich and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.

In this interview with Cyber Chronicle Newsroom (CCN), Ralf Wecke, Director Public at SITS Deutschland GmbH, explains the meaning of the award, the growing threats posed by cyber attacks and how SITS supports its clients with tailor-made security solutions.

In this interview with Cyber Chronicle Newsroom (CCN), Ralf Wecke, Director Public at SITS Deutschland GmbH, explains the meaning of the award, the growing threats posed by cyber attacks and how SITS supports its clients with tailor-made security solutions. 

Cyber Chronicle Newsroom (CCN): Mr. Wecke, SITS Deutschland GmbH has been awarded the “Top Consultant” seal of quality for the third time in a row. What does this award mean for you and your team, especially in the field of IT security? 

Ralf Wecke (RW): This award is a great honor and recognition of our work. It shows that we continuously provide a high level of consultancy and ensure our customers receive the best possible service, especially in the area of IT security, which is a central focus for us. For our team, it is proof that we are on the right track and that our dedication is paying back. I am also proud and thankful that we have so many skilled and passionate consultants and employees in the company who have made a significant contribution to this award. 

CCN: The threat of cyber attacks is constantly increasing, which is a major problem for SMEs and public authorities in particular. How does SITS Deutschland GmbH support its customers in this challenging environment? 

RW: Cyber attacks are a serious threat and the security of our clients’ IT infrastructures is a key priority for us. We offer end-to-end consulting and support our customers from the initial analysis of their IT requirements through to the implementation and ongoing support of their operating systems. Our concepts are tailor-made to the individual requirements and challenges of each organization. 

CCN: What are the major challenges that SMEs face in terms of IT security? 

RW: Medium-sized companies are often faced with the challenge of ensuring a high level of IT security with limited resources. They do not have the same budgets and IT resources as large corporations. It is therefore important that they receive customized, most efficient and cost-effective security solutions that still maintain the highest standards. 

CCN: How does SITS Deutschland GmbH ensure the development of such customized security solutions? 

RW: Our consultants invest a lot of time in analyzing each client’s individual situation in detail. We carry out detailed risk analyses and develop made-to-measure security concepts on this basis. We offer everything from a single source: from consulting and implementation to support during operation and in case of a cyber attack. 

CCN: Can you give us an example for a successful IT security projects? 

RW: One example is the implementation of a complete IT security concept at a medium-sized manufacturing company. We made their IT infrastructure up-to-date, closed security gaps and carried out a comprehensive training program for all their employees. This not only ensured better security, but also increased efficiency. 

CCN: How important is the customization of consulting for your clients? 

RW: This is of key importance. Our customers really appreciate the fact that we don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions, but tailor each concept to their specific requirements. This is also proven by the high level of satisfaction among our customers, which is reflected in the scientific customer survey. 

CCN: What role do your partners and their technical excellence play in the implementation of your security solutions? 

RW: We work exclusively with highly qualified partners who offer technical excellence and support us in developing and implementing the best solutions for our clients. This collaboration enables us to offer our customers cutting edge and secure IT solutions. 

CCN: What does the support look like during ongoing operations and in the event of a cyber attack? 

RW: Once the security solutions have been implemented, we offer continuous support during ongoing operations. This includes regular security checks, training and even the management of ongoing operations, for example through our comprehensive range of managed services. Even in the case of a cyber attack, we are immediately on hand to ensure that damage is minimized and security is restored as quickly as possible. 

CCN: What are the challenges you see for the future of IT security? 

RW: One of the biggest challenges is the rapid pace of technological development. Cyber threats are becoming more and more complex and sophisticated, so we need to keep up to date and continuously develop our knowledge and skills. In addition, the importance of data protection and IT security will continue to grow. 

CCN: What are your plans for the future of SITS Deutschland GmbH? 

RW: We want to further expand our position as a leading consultant in the field of IT and information security and align our services even more closely with the needs of SMEs and public authorities. This also includes investing in new technologies and the continuous development of our teams.

Convincing with expertise in consulting: SITS Deutschland GmbH is one of the best SME consultants in Germany and has therefore been awarded the TOP CONSULTANT Seal 2024. The former German President Christian Wulff handed the trophy over to SITS Deutschland on Friday, the 28th of June, in Weimar. Wulff supports the consultancy competition as a mentor. On behalf of compamedia, the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Management und Beratung (WGMB) had previously examined how good the participants were at advising their SME clients.

The heart of TOP CONSULTANT is a scientific customer survey: Medium-sized companies that had previously worked with SITS Deutschland were surveyed by the WGMB. The reference customers named by SITS Deutschland stated, for example, whether and to what extent they were satisfied with the consultancy service and whether they would recommend SITS Deutschland to others (further information on the test criteria can be found at www.top-consultant.de/pruefkriterien).

SITS Deutschland is one of the Top Consultants 2024 thanks to its excellent consulting quality. Mit sofortiger Wirkung wurde Frau Prof. Dr. Claudia Eckert in den Verwaltungsrat der Swiss IT Security Group berufen.

Die promovierte und habilitierte Informatikerin ist Leiterin des Lehrstuhls für „Sicherheit in der Informatik“ an der Technischen Universität München sowie Leiterin des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Angewandte und Integrierte Sicherheit (AISEC) in Garching bei München. Daneben ist sie unter anderem Mitglied des Aufsichtsrats der Bundesdruckerei, der Trumpf GmbH und der BWI GmbH.

Als Mitglied wichtiger wissenschaftlicher und industrieller Gremien berät sie Unternehmen, Wirtschaftsverbände sowie Ministerien auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene bei der Entwicklung von Forschungsstrategien und der Umsetzung von Sicherheitskonzepten.

Ihre Leistungen wurden unter anderem mit den Auszeichnungen „Deutschlands Digitale Köpfe“ des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung sowie 2021 mit dem Bayerischen Verdienstorden gewürdigt.
